Vistry signs contracts to bring over 2,000 new homes to Worcester’s Hopfields development
Vistry has completed contracts on a major site in South Worcester, paving the way for the delivery of more than 2,000 new homes. This development will offer a mix of tenures, with at least half of the homes pre-sold in line with Vistry’s partnership led delivery approach.
The site already benefits from outline planning consent for a vibrant, mixed-use community. Plans include a local centre, up to 2,204 homes, with 20% designated as affordable housing. As one of the largest sites within the South Worcester Development Plan, this project will help meet local housing needs and support the area’s growth.
Of the new homes, approximately 800 will be affordable, 440 delivered through planning obligations and up to 400 as additional affordable or private rented homes. Around 1,200 homes will be available for open market sale, delivered through Vistry’s well-known brands, Linden Homes, Countryside and Bovis Homes. Many of the homes will feature timber frames, manufactured by Vistry’s own operations, supporting sustainability and efficiency.
James Warrington, Executive Chair (North, South Midlands and East Division) at Vistry said: “Large sites such as this demonstrate our long-term commitment to building more mixed-tenure, affordable homes at scale, meeting the acute shortage of affordable homes across the country. Thanks to the unique strengths of Vistry, we can make use of our retail brands Bovis Homes, Countryside and Linden Homes as well as taking advantage of the timber frame manufacturing capabilities of Vistry Works.
“I would like also like to formally acknowledge and express my sincere appreciation to Welbeck Land, Fisher German, and Arc Chartered Surveyors for their steadfast support and invaluable contributions throughout the land acquisition process.”
