Land sale completed for an Extra care facility to be delivered at Kingsmere, Bicester
Countryside Properties (Bicester) Ltd has completed a land sale to Preferred Homes who will be deliveringan 82‑apartment affordable extra care facility at Kingsmere in south‑west Bicester. The extra care facility will be delivered alongside future residential development as part of a wider planning consent obtained earlier in the year.
The hybrid planning permission allows for the full delivery of a much-needed extra care home, including landscaping, car and cycle parking and supporting infrastructure, at the east of Ludlow Road. The consent also includes the construction of up to 14 residential dwellings which will be developed by a housebuilder.
Kingsmere forms part of the wider South West Bicester development and is an established residential community supported by green infrastructure and local amenities, situated between Middleton Stoney Road and Oxford Road. Construction began in July 2010, and the development is nearing completion, with this site representing one of the final remaining development parcels.
James Harkin, Head of Vistry Strategic Land, said: “Securing planning consent for this extra care facility is an important step in bringing forward high‑quality extra care accommodation at Kingsmere. Completing the land sale to Preferred Homes ensures this much‑needed provision can now be delivered, while the residential element will continue to support local housing delivery as the final areas of the Kingsmere development come forward.”
