Vistry and Zen Housing exchange contracts to deliver 71 affordable homes in Kent

Vistry, the UK’s leading provider of mixed-tenure homes, has exchanged contracts with Zen Housing to deliver 71 affordable homes across the Oakridge Grange development in Kent.

At Oakridge Grange in Tenterden, Zen has acquired 71 affordable homes, comprising 47 shared ownership properties and 24 homes for affordable rent, representing over half of the 141 homes being delivered at the development. Construction of these homes is currently underway, with the first handovers to Zen Housing expected in December 2026.

Located on Appledore Road and within walking distance of Tenterden town centre, the wider Oakridge Grange development will also provide new play areas, five football pitches, a sports pavilion and a large country park featuring wildflower meadows, community orchards and ponds. The private homes will be delivered under Vistry’s Bovis Homes brand with new three and four-bedroom show homes set to launch in end of September 2026.

Tom Dazell, Managing Director at Vistry Kent, said: “This agreement with Zen Housing is a strong example of how effective partnerships can help accelerate the delivery of much-needed affordable homes. At Oakridge Grange, we will deliver 71 high-quality affordable homes, helping meet local housing need and support sustainable communities. By working with organisations that share our ambition, we can provide more people and families across Kent with access to much-needed new homes.”

John Okell, Investment Director at Zen Housing, added: “This is an exciting opportunity for Zen Housing to work alongside Vistry to bring more affordable homes to Tenterden. Securing a good mix of shared ownership and affordable rent is an important part of creating balanced communities, giving local people greater choice and helping more households find a home they can afford. We’re looking forward to seeing the development take shape and, ultimately, welcoming residents to their new homes.”
