Vistry announces senior Partnerships leadership succession

Catherine Raynsford appointed Group Partnerships Director as Stephen Teagle announces retirement

Vistry Group has announced that Catherine Raynsford will join the Group as Group Partnerships Director on 1 January 2027, succeeding Stephen Teagle, who will retire from his role as Chief Executive, Partnerships and Regeneration, at the end of March 2027.

The appointments form part of a planned succession process, with Stephen having indicated his intention to retire earlier this year. Catherine and Stephen will work together during the first quarter of 2027 to ensure a smooth and orderly transition.

Following his retirement from his current role, Stephen will continue to support Vistry on a part-time basis as an adviser to the Chief Executive and the PLC Board.

Catherine will lead Vistry’s Partnerships and Regeneration team and will play a key role in the continued development of the Group’s mixed-tenure partnerships model. Her focus will include strengthening existing partner relationships, developing strategic opportunities and ensuring Vistry continues to be recognised as a partner of choice.

Catherine brings more than 20 years’ experience in affordable housing and a strong understanding of the partnerships and mixed-tenure market. She is currently Managing Director, Stock Acquisitions at L&G Affordable Homes and was previously Investment & Partnerships Director at The Hyde Group.

Stephen joined Galliford Try in 2006, following 20 years working within the housing association sector. Over a career spanning four decades across both the not-for-profit and plc sectors, he has played a leading role in establishing and developing Vistry’s partnerships and mixed-tenure business.

Stephen Teagle said:

“Having spent 40 years in the sector, across both the not-for-profit and plc sectors, it has been a privilege to have played a part in creating an industry-leading partnerships business.

“I am incredibly proud of the thousands of homes we have delivered and, importantly, the partnerships we have built to make that possible.

“I am delighted that Catherine has agreed to join Vistry. With the success of our recent SAHP allocation and the clear direction of travel under our new strategy, I have every confidence that the business will continue to play an important role in delivering the new homes and mixed-tenure communities the country needs.

“I would like to thank all the colleagues and partners I have worked with over the years and wish Adam and the whole Vistry team every success for the future. I look forward to working closely with Catherine to ensure a smooth transition.”

Adam Daniels, Chief Executive of Vistry Group, said:

“Stephen has played a fundamental role in the creation and evolution of our partnerships model. Throughout his time with the business, he has built and nurtured important relationships with housing associations, local authorities, institutional partners, Homes England and government, many of whom we are proud to call our partners.

“Stephen leaves an outstanding legacy and, on behalf of everyone at Vistry, I would like to thank him for his exceptional contribution and dedicated service. He should be enormously proud of the business he has helped to build.

“I am delighted that Catherine will be joining us to build on these strong foundations as Vistry enters its next stage. She brings significant experience of the affordable housing sector, a deep understanding of our partners and a strong track record in investment and partnerships. I am confident she will provide valuable leadership as we continue to develop and scale our mixed-tenure model.”
