Vistry hands over final affordable homes to Hightown at Spencer’s Park West, Hemel Hempstead

Vistry, the UK’s leading provider of mixed-tenure homes, has marked the completion of the first phase of its Spencer’s Park West development in Hemel Hempstead, with the handover of the final affordable home to housing association partner Hightown.

The milestone marks the completion of Phase one at Spencer’s Park West, delivering 97 new homes, including 73 for affordable rent and 24 for shared ownership, as part of the wider 600-home masterplan. The development forms a key part of Vistry’s commitment to delivering sustainable, mixed-tenure communities that meet a range of local housing needs. PRS homes within Phase one have now been fully delivered and handed over, while private sale homes remain ongoing.

In addition to the homes being delivered, the wider Spencer’s Park development will benefit from integrated infrastructure designed to create long-term value and support thriving long-term communities. This includes 16.4 hectares of Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) at a nearby site, providing publicly accessible walking and cycling routes while creating new ecological habitats.

Verity Macey, Managing Director at Vistry Central Home Counties, said: “Completing Phase one at Spencer’s Park West marks an important milestone in delivering this new community. Our partnership with Hightown on this first phase has enabled us to deliver high-quality affordable homes to help meet local needs, and we look forward to continuing to deliver across multiple tenures as the wider development takes shape.”

Andrew Royall, Executive Director of Development at Hightown Housing Association, said: “We are delighted to take handover of the final affordable home in the first phase of Spencer’s Park West. These high-quality, energy-efficient homes will give local people and families the opportunity to live in a place they can be proud to call home.
“We look forward to seeing the development continue to take shape and the positive impact these new homes will have for our customers and the wider Hemel Hempstead community for many years to come.”
