Vistry to deliver 149 homes at Simpson Park
Vistry, the UK’s leading provider of mixed-tenure homes, is set to deliver 149 homes at Simpson Park in Bircotes, including 60 affordable homes to be forward sold to Sage Homes.
Vistry has acquired part of the 173-acre Simpson Park development which will see the former Harworth Colliery transformed into a community of over 1,600 homes. In addition to the affordable homes, Vistry will provide 89 homes available on the open market under its Bovis Homes brand.
Work is already well underway across the wider Simpson Park development, with more than 800 homes either completed or under construction. Full planning permission has been secured for this phase, allowing Vistry to begin work immediately.
Andrew Poyner, Managing Director of Vistry West Yorkshire, said: “We’re delighted to be playing a part in such an important regeneration project for the region, transforming a former colliery site into a thriving new community. This is the second site we have acquired from Harworth Group, we are developing homes in partnership with them on a third, and we look forward to working with them in more opportunities in the future. By working with Sage, we can make sure the development includes a broad mix of homes, including affordable housing, so more local people can benefit from what’s being built here.”
Alex Dawkins, Acquisitions Director, Sage Homes, said: “We are pleased to extend our partnership with Vistry and, as England’s largest provider of newly built affordable homes, are proud to be providing much needed social rent homes for people on the local authority’s housing waiting list.”
