Vistry welcomes new partners as next phases of work start at Great Haddon
Vistry, the UK’s leading provider of mixed-tenure homes, has started work on two new phases of development at Great Haddon in Peterborough, marking a major milestone in the delivery of new homes within the growing Haddon Cross community. This next stage is being brought forward in partnership with two key delivery partners: Sage, England’s largest provider of affordable housing, and private rental sector (PRS) specialist Jensco.
Together, the partners will deliver 207 new homes across these phases of the scheme, comprising 82 high-quality affordable homes for Sage, 125 PRS homes for Jensco, and additional open-market homes delivered through Vistry’s Linden brand. The joint approach strengthens the choice of tenures available within the emerging neighbourhood and supports the creation of a diverse, inclusive community.
Andy Reynolds, Managing Director for Vistry South East Midlands, commented: “Starting work on the next two phases at Great Haddon is a key step in accelerating the delivery of much-needed new homes in this part of the East Midlands. Working alongside both Sage and Jensco ensures we can provide a broad mix of high-quality homes for affordable rent, private rent, and open-market sale. With strong buyer interest in our other schemes at Great Haddon, we’re pleased to be expanding this vibrant, well-connected community.”
Alex Dawkins, Acquisitions Director at Sage said: “Sage is pleased to continue our partnership with Vistry at Great Haddon. Once complete, we will have delivered 25 new homes for people on the local authority’s waiting list and a further 57 Shared Ownership homes, helping those who cannot afford to buy outright, get on the housing ladder. This is a great example of partnerships in action as 39 of those homes would not have been possible without the support of Homes England. We are delighted to be able to play our part in delivering much needed affordable homes.”
Nigel Bobroff, CEO of Jensco Group, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Vistry to deliver 125 homes at Great Haddon. Vistry has a strong track record of creating well-designed communities and highquality homes and we look forward to working together to bring forward professionally managed rental housing that will form an important part of this growing neighbourhood. Together with our investment partner Zenzic, this project represents an important step in growing our single-family rental portfolio across the UK.”
As part of the wider Great Haddon Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE), Haddon Cross forms part of a transformative masterplan that will ultimately provide more than 5,000 new homes. The development will include a district centre, two neighbourhood centres, new schools, community and health facilities, sports amenities, water features and substantial green spaces including 7.5 hectares of amenity open space and 8.4 hectares of accessible natural green space.
Within this ambitious masterplan, Vistry is delivering around 2,000 mixed-tenure homes across Fletton Folly, Haddon Peake, Haddon Green and Haddon Cross. This is possible through its strong partnerships across the affordable and private rental sectors, in addition to its open market brands.
